Rules
  • Your teams value must not top £50 million.
  • No more than two players from any one Premiership side.
  • Team formation must be 1 Goalkeeper, 4 Defenders : 3 or 4 Midfielders, 2 or 3 Forwards.. but no more than 11 players.
Money
  • Cost £5 Entry and £1 per week
  • The £5 entry fee is kept for the end of seasons final League standings. Percentage breakdown to be announced after all entries are in.
  • Depending on the number of enteies, the weekly pot will be distributed as follows … i.e. 1st = £50, 2nd = £22, 50th = £10
  • Dream Team Cup will be on a knock out basis 1st = £100, 2nd = £ 50, 3rd/4th =£25
Scoring
  • 3 points are awarded to any player given a mark of seven or more in Sun'sl ratings carried with Premiership, European games and English Cup games.
  • 5 points are awarded to the Sun's 'Star Man' in any of the above games.
  • Qualifying rounds for the Champions League and UEFA Cup DO NOT count.
  • 5 points are awarded for a goal scored in any of the above games.
  • A player scoring a hat-trick gets five bonus points for a total of 20 points.
  • A keeper or defender who keeps a clean sheet in any of the above games scores 5 points. If they concede one goal, they score no points, two goals -1 points, three goals -2 and so on.
  • A midfielder who keeps a clean sheet in any of the above games scores 2 points.
  • Player not picked for any reason scores no points.
  • Penalty save from a goal keeper scores 3 points.
  • Any defender or keeper who comes on as a sub scores points for a clean sheet or loses points for conceding goals as if they had played the whole game.
  • Any player who is booked loses a point, a player who is sent off loses three points. A player sent off for two bookings loses three points.
  • The player who scores the most points during the season earns a 20 point bonus.
Tranfers
  • You can transfer upto three players at any time during the season, providing you do not break any of the existing rules. You do not have to make all three of your transfers at the same time.
  • Your transfers must be submitted via E-mail, and will take place for games being played on the following Saturday.
  • If a Premiership player is transferred from one club to another, he continues to score points. For the purpose of the competition, he remains registered with his original club.
  • If a player is transferred out of the Premiership or retires, his score is frozen.

NEW: For matches played on a Saturday there are additional points allocated by the News of the World. The News of the World will publish their 'Dream Team of the Day' on Sundays based on matches played on Saturday. 

  • The Goalkeeper selected in the News of the World 'Dream Team of the Day' scores eight points.
  • The top Defender scores eight points.
  • The top Midfielder scores eight points.
  • The top Striker scores eight points.
  • The remaining seven players in the News of the World 'Dream Team of the Day' each score two points
Rules remain the same for games involving extra-time. Penalty shootouts do not count.  Replays are counted as separate games.
